The Hampton Inn off Tropicana is what you'll get for $100 a night or less over a weekend. Figure about a $100 or more during the week for any of the hotels on the Strip - and nearly double that on the weekends.

The best way to get cheap hotel tickets is via the internet. Doesn't really matter what time of year.
Hotel's for $100 (some I will list you can get for a little less):

-Monte Carlo
-New York, New York
-The Paris (probably the best for that price)
-The Mirage
-Treasure Island

You will not have any trouble finding a nice hotel for $100 a night(or less). If you're willing to stay Sunday through Thursday, weekends are much higher. To get the best rates in Las Vegas you have to avoid special events and large conventions.

You will find some very nice rates, from May 28 to June the 1st. I'm holding 7 nights already already beginning May 28th, the first 4 nights of my stay are at the Orleans, the rate is $24 a night, I found that rate in November on >the rate yesterday was $35 for those same 4 nights. The Orleans is a very nice hotel, but, I don't know what amenities you're most interested in..

I ran May 28th for 7 nights through travelworm.
Hotel - average rate for the first 4 nights - average 7 night rate
Stratosphere - $40 - $53.14
Orleans - $35 - $62.43
Barbary Coast - $70 - $84.29
Flamingo - $85 - $116.43
Bally's - $79 - $120.57
Luxor - $80 - $124.29

for hotel reviews

Some people don't like the Stratosphere simply because it's located on the far North end of the strip. Which makes it great for us bargain hunters. Is the Luxor a nicer hotel, absolutely, it's a 4 star hotel and the Strat is a 3, the Luxor is located on the far South end of the strip, is it worth an extra $500 for the week to stay at the Luxor over the Stratosphere, I guess that's up to you.

If you want a center strip location, the Barbary Coast has as good a location as any hotel in LV. Nice hotel, nice rooms, great TV's, NO swimming pool. BC will price match any online room rate you find for their hotel.

If you want that great pool, try the Flamingo, they have a really nice pool area.

Bally's is okay, nothing special here other than the fact it's located next to Paris, which is a very cool hotel.

Orleans, while it's not on the strip, it's located West of the strip on Tropicana, many people including myself consider the Orleans to be one of the very best values in LV, if not the best. Very nice, over size rooms, great food at bargain prices, tons of things to do on property, low minimums on their gaming tables, even on Friday & Saturday nights. It is possible to get a room at the Orleans with an awesome view of the strip. when you check in ask for a room on the 15th-19th floors, with a room number between 02-44(even), rooms such as 1536 - 1640 - 1824 etc would have great views of the strip. to check it out >the Orleans will also "price match" any online room rate you find for their hotel>same nights of course.

The Harrah's group of hotels will also price match, though they don't make it as easy as the Coast hotels. Harrah's will match and beat any online price for their hotel by 25%. You do have to follow their price guarantee rules, and jump through a few hoops. If you want to stay there, it would be worth your time to check it out. >Harrah's includes Caesars, Flamingo, Paris, Bally's, Harrah's etc

I spend quite a bit of time in LV, I prefer to go for 2 weeks at a time 2 or 3 times a year. My strategy for bargain hunting rooms.

1-I go during the slowest times of the year in LV - December>after the NFR - and just after Memorial Day are two of my favorites - I'm already holding 10 nights in December($224 total fot the 10 nights)

2-Plan ahead - research - when I find a good or preferable great rate I hold the room, "through the hotel". This way I can continue to look for a better deal right up until I leave. And, just as important the hotel is then able to reward me for my play by comping me the room.

I have 4 hotels that I regulary receive comp nights from, I use those marketing/promotion offers to fill in the time, on my vacations. I highly doubt I will end up staying at the Gold Coast for 10 nights, I will either go earlier or stay later in the month on free nights through marketing offers. But by holding those 10 nights now, it gives me a lot of flexibility..

It's a simple process, but it does require an investment of time.

I also check these for LV room rates

Some hotels are great about sending e-mail offers >
Mirage
Luxor
Golden Nugget
Stratosphere
Harrah's and Coast hotel.
 >great source of LV info >also a link to all LV hotels.

Try using price comparison sites like

The Golden Nugget may have some good rates if you stay in the south Tower.

You probably won't be able to get a four or five-star hotel for less than $100/night. However, there are tons of deals out there on the Web.

Friday and Saturday nights typically cost more than other days of the week. So to save a little bit try to limit your stay to including a maximum of one Friday and one Saturday.

I've been to Vegas, although not in June, and definitaly not for $100 a night, but as long as you're not expecting MGM or Caesar's, I'm sure you'll find something nice.

June, July and August tend to be the most expensive time of year, other than special events like holiday weekends and sporting events. If Conventions are in town it can get pricy too. It seems like more and more time gets expensive every year.

Too get a cheap rate at a place not too far from the action I recomend Imperial Palace, Ballys, Flamingo, Tropicana, or Excalibur. Avoid Circus Circus or the Stratosphere because they are a long way from the main part of the strip,
