Check tripadvisor.com for stratosphere reviews. The rooms may be cheap but the stratosphere is at the other end of the strip far from everything. Harrah’s, flamingo, bally’s, and bills gambling saloon are also pretty affordable and offer a central strip location.

The Stratosphere is not a dump. It’s a very nice hotel. The reason the rates are so low is because it’s at the far North end of the strip, and most everyone would rather stay closer to the center of the strip. Which works out well for us bargain seekers

The Premier Tower is the newest and nicest tower. But, we have stayed in the World Towers too, and they are nice too.
The Stratosphere is not a 5 star resort, but it is very nice and with the Deuce stop right out front you can get to any other part of the strip(or downtown) in a few minutes.
Even if you stay right in the middle of the strip you still can’t walk to all of the other hotels on the strip, at least not unless you’re into marathon walking.

The Stratosphere is definitely a great place to visit, I am not sure about stay! I would have LOVED to stay there, though! I wasn’t old enough to drink or gamble when I went, and the RIDES at Stratosphere (they have THRILL RIDES) were the best part of my trip!
Yeah, it’s at the end of the strip, but there is a uhh, not Trolly, but a transit system that goes down the strip and it’s not far to walk. Make sure there’s no construction, that could lower rates too.

I stayed there in March 2006. it was a bit worn, but not shabby or dirty like CircusCircus is. The public areas were cleaned twice daily when I was there. The staff is quite friendly as well
TheSaharah is also fairly cheap and seemed clean and well kept.

The Stratosphere is very nice. Pretty much every Hotel on the strip has rooms a lot nicer than you find in other cities at the price. The Strat is at the northen end of the strip and a bit issolated. That is why it is cheaper. If you rent a car it is a non-issue. If you are on foot I recommend a hotel near the middle of the strip.

I work for a sister Casino of the Strat, and i stayed there for a week before we moved out to Vegas. The rooms are nice and large and very clean. There are a few places inside to eat. Lucky’s is open 24/7 and has good prices and the food is good, also there are a few shops inside and a Starbucks.
And there is a new club inside to, that offers 80′ & 90’s and today dance music, they have a great pool up on the 8th floor with a great view of the mountains. You will in deed enjoy your stay there, so go ahead and book…….

NEVER stay at the stratosphere!! While building the final top part, there was a fire. There isn’t a hose in the valley long enough to reach the top. They had to let it burn until other means were untilized. It took 2 hours for a helicopter to come and dump water on it. A couple years ago, there was a mild fire. The fire department reported only about 25% of the sprinklers inside the building properly worked.
Kinda scary!
