I would personally try priceline, travelocity, or expedia. I live in Vegas. But when I use to come here as a tourist, that's what I did.

I generally find that this site has the best LV room rates

that said I always check these to see if they are running a special, that may beat TW's best rate

You didn't give us your dates, so I used 5/6 to 5/11 to check "utopia" against TravelWorm and while travel worm was cheaper 9 out of 11 hotels I checked and one was a virtual tie. Utopia was cheaper on the Aladdin and it was one of the better rates I found, $649 for the 5 nights. TW had the Luxor for $609.

Aladdin is very close to center strip, the Luxor is on the very south end of the strip. I do have a preference for the Luxor, but that's just me, staying in the world's largest pyramid is kind of cool. At times you can upgrade to one of their jacuzzi suites at a good rate. If it were me I would call the reservations at both, check and see if they will price match those rates, and it never hurts to ask if they are having any specials.

If you will go to the Luxor site and sign up for their e-mail, they are very good about sending out e-mail special offers. The Mirage is another that is good about specials.

"matthew" mentioned the Barbary Coast, I second everything he said, BC is a very nice place in a super location. The rooms here usually run in the $70-$100 range for Sun/Thur . If you want to save a bundle, stay at the Stratosphere, $40-$50 S/T is the usual. It is at the far North end of the strip, but, that is not as big a deal as some would have you believe, unless you just refuse to ride a bus, the Deuce is actually very nice.

you can use this site to link to any LV hotel you wish to check out >"VEGAS INFO">casinos>link
IMHO this is the best site for LV info - they have over 30,000 of us paid members to keep happy so they have to work harder. Anyone can use 99% of the site for free. They even have a free forum for visitors.

If you "add details" to your question>the dates you're going>it would help a great deal. Otherwise we just have to give you general information rather than specific deals that would be available. On the other hand if you're being flexible, you should be able to save a considerable amount of money.

Hooters Casino Hotel -- behind Tropicana and across from MGM. Used to be the San Remo Resort and Casino. Not center of strip - but rooms are $60 to $80 and the "scenery" is nice.
Rooms are good, not great - pool area is nice. Dan Marino's Steakhouse is the premier restaurant there.
Hooters girls are the dealers at many tables.

I now live in LV... but, when i came here as a tourist... i would (also) look for something that was central-strip.

You're best bet is probably BARBARY COAST. It's a smaller hotel, but the location cannot be beat. If you can do without volcano's & 17 restuarants in the lobby, this will suit you fine. The rooms are clean & the beds comfy. It's also a clean place. It's smaller so check-in will be a breeze. They have a shuttle that goes "off-strip" if you wanted to checkout Orleans or the Gold Coast.

Imperial Palace may be worth a shot - they usually have pretty reasonable prices.

Where you STAY AT wont always determine if you have the 'best vegas experience' as you put it. It can add to it, but it's not paramount.

Myself -- i say save your dough on the room & splurge on shows/nice dinners/gambling with the extra $$$.

The BC isnt a dump. The casino is nice & the table minimums are really reasonable if you end up doing your gaming there.

Since it IS central strip (corner of LV Blvd & Flamingo), you can walk to nearly any hotel (from mandy-bay up to Sahara). The weather ought to be juuuuust abour right by then. North of Sahara, i'd cab it for sure -- some sketchy areas beyond that.

Have fun partner...

One final thing .... hotel rates vary GREATLY due to conventions that are in town, etc. If you're flexible with your dates... a few days later/earlier may save you a pile of dough.

Almost always .. booking with the hotel DIRECTLY via their website will get you the best rate. Check the cancellation policy. Book early, if you find something better .. re book it (((( even at the SAME HOTEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ))

It is very hard to answer your question because it is not full of details.

"going early May" does not help us to give a true factual answer..

Sunday- Thursday are cheaper (could be much cheaper) than Friday-Saturday.

Since you didn't supply dates it is hard to really say what is best for you.

All I know is that I have found the best deals for my travel at

You can see in my best answers how often I mention this site and how often it has been picked as "BEST ANSWER". Numerous people have found this website to be helpful
