luxor. at the bottom or the base rooms…it is 25-35 per night. and FRIDAYS??? all hotels have specials after 8;30PM you have to ask for the specials and times it is offered. best and safest and cheapest on the strip is the luxor. wait. yes…the luxor. the pyramid one.

Hotels are generally quite cheap along the strip - try the Luxor, Excalibur or the New York New York. These are at the bottom end of the strip and are about half the price (and some) than those in the middle.
Plus, the Luxor has a certain wow factor if you’ve not been before. Make sure you ask for a pyramid room, facing the strip. You wont be dissapointed. You can get rooms from as little as £35 per person per night at the Luxor - avoid Friday to Sunday if you can as rates are a little higher and make sure there are no large conventions going on (this ramps up the cost as rooms are always in heavy demand).
Hope that helps.

What does it matter what it looks like. You’ll have lost all your money after the first night anyway.

We are staying at the Barbary Coast hotel where the rooms look good, 40inch plasma and staying during the week not fri/sat will also let you have a nicer hotel at reasonable prices.
Good luck

try Golden Nugget in downtown or Hilton - they have pretty reasonable rate for weekdays and longer stays. I booked Hilton Grand Vacation on the strip and paid only $87/night (this is for weekday).

This has definitely been the age-old hunt for us, middle-class workers, who want to enjoy our time and not spend a fortune.
The name of the game is that you are in Vegas! You will be using your room for less than 8 hours a day, so don’t spent a fortune on it! Save that money for the shows, gaming, attractions, and fun!
We used to stay at the Westward Ho, until it was closed in November of 2005. Here’s a list of nice strip hotels that regularly have good deals and rooms under $100/night:
Barbary Coast (Now owned by Harrahs)
Monte Carlo
Tropicana
Slighlty off strip, check out the new Hooters. (Formerly the San Remo.) Pay no attention to the name/branding. They have cheap rooms - $50/night! And it is the newest hotel in the area (As of Oct 2006.)
Expedia has some great deals, so check them out. I have found they beat several other services by a few dollars.
Check out: for more information and tips for your trip.

Use SmartSearch to compare air rate by entering trip detail once. You dont have to enter it again and again. You can compare rate on major travel site from one place…

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That’s a good one….
Wow… I can’t believe all the misinformation here. First we have to talk about resonable and liveable…
I do not know ANY hotel that is up-to-date and modern that is available for less than $100 a night. Since you do not want an older room that is “Granny”, that leaves out all the strip hotels that could be under $100 a night, like the IP, New Frontier, Circus Circus, Riviera and Sahara. All the other hotels will generally have rooms you will like but be over about $100 a night. I have two recommendations, Aladdin and Paris. Both are very nice and reasonable.
Now here is something to consider, try a slightly off strip hotel. I would recomment La Quinta or Renniacance or Marriot Suites, etc… they are considerably less money, modern and a nice stay. The money you save on the room will easily pay for the cabs you will take to the strip. (BTW, no cab ride should be more than about $15 to the strip, unless you are REALLY off the strip)
All that being said, if a convention is in town, all bets are off.

Check out the West Wing rooms at MGM. They are specially designed and even have a flat TV in the middle of the mirror in the bathroom. They also include a pillowtop mattress and down comforter. All these rooms have king size beds in them. MGM only allows two guests per room in the West Wing so if there are more than two of you, you’ll be out of luck.
If you’re on a really tight budget, check out the Monte Carlo. Their rooms are very nice and very clean and Monte Carlo has some of the best rates in Vegas.
If you want something different… all the rooms in the Island Tower at Tropicana have mirrors over the beds which can be kinda fun. But Tropicana is an older hotel and not as nice as MGM or Monte Carlo.
All three of the hotels I’ve mentioned are in great locations on the strip. You won’t be disappointed with any of them.
