Champagne, perfect for every occasion

No special occasion can never be complete without the popping of a champagne bottle. This tradition has been a part of every event in our life that we immediately look for a bottle of a sparkling wine whenever in an affair. In fact, champagne has been known world wide as the festive wine. Popping a bottle of champagne signals the start of jollity in such an affair. Although we have come to love champagne, but we further need to know all about this drink to appreciate it even more.

The discovery of Champagne was almost 2,000 years ago and was named after a town in France where it originated. It is more than your regular wine since it is carbonated thus the bubbles in it. Production of champagne includes putting yeast and a few rock sugar into every bottle for its secondary fermentation that resulted to the creation of bubbles. These bubbles are the very reason why champagne is referred as a festive wine. When you open a bottle of champagne there is a popping sound and a stream of bubbles coming out, which can be very enjoyable thus adding to the merriment of the occasion.

Champagne is best served in a special glass called champagne flutes, a slim glass that is slightly narrow in order to contain the bubbles for a longer period to let you enjoy champagne more. Chilling a bottle of champagne before serving them to guests is the ultimate way of enjoying the drink. Do not put ice in to your glass as this will fizzle out the bubble and lessens the effect of the drink. Keep it chilled and you will greatly enjoy your glass of champagne for sure.

Champagne is not just for the fun it provides but also for the health benefits that you can get from it. According to the studies, moderate consumption of champagne may help protect the brain from diseases such as Alzheimer’s, stroke and Parkinson’s. Although further experiments and studies have to be conducted in order to fully conclude the long-term benefits of champagne in our health.

Now you know how to fully appreciate a glass of champagne and for the fact that this can be beneficial to your health as well. So the next time you raise your glass and say Cheers with friends, mean it well.
