What does Charles Shaw do to make thier wine so cheap?
What I’m wondering is if you watched the Wine Making process at Charles Shaw and at a vineyard that made $25 bottles of wine what differences would you see?
They buy their grapes from many different vineyards, generally the grapes that the wineries do not want for whatever reason. They get a great deal on these grapes and mass produce large quantities of wine. They are able to sell a large volume of wine at such a low price. This means that their overall profit margin doesn’t need to be what a small winery would have to be to keep afloat. Its what their overall profit is at the end of the year. Again, its selling in bulk all over the country.
